    Treatment of Speech Sound Disorders

    We work with children to practice correct sound placement and build confidence in their communication abilities through engaging and interactive activities. We help children improve their speech sound productions to enhance clarity and ensure they are understood by others.

    Expressive Language Support

    Building sentence structure, expanding vocabulary, and strengthening grammar skills to help children effectively express their thoughts and ideas. We provide targeted exercises and practice opportunities to improve these skills while also having fun.

    Receptive Language Support

    Improving comprehension skills to help children follow directions, understand concepts, answer questions and engage confidently in conversations. Our therapy focuses on improving receptive language skills and developing strategies for understanding language in everyday settings.

    Stuttering Intervention

    We provide strategies to improve overall speech fluency while building confidence in communication. By incorporating techniques such as direct and indirect therapy methods, we help children communicate more confidently.

    Pragmatic Language Support

    Teaching children appropriate social communication skills to foster meaningful interactions with peers and adults. We focus on skills such as taking turns in conversation, understanding social cues, and building friendships in both structured and natural settings.

    AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)

    Supporting children who benefit from alternative communication methods, such as sign language or communication devices, to ensure they can effectively connect with others. We assess each child's individual communication needs and provide training for families and caregivers to help integrate AAC tools into everyday life

FAQs

  • Speech therapy evaluations and sessions are located in Colleen’s home office in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

  • Coll The SLP does not currently accept insurance. Insurance often dictates the type and amount of care your child can receive. By not accepting insurance, we can determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your child strictly based on his/her speech and language needs. If requested, superbills can be provided for caregivers to submit to their insurance provider if wishing to seek reimbursement. We accept cash, credit cards, HSA/ FSA cards or checks. Payment is required at the time of service.

  • Initial Evaluations

    • Speech Sound Evaluation: $200.00

    • Language Evaluation: $200.00

    • Speech Sound Evaluation and Language Evaluation: $350.00

    The type of testing will be determined based on the consultation phone call, as well as, the parent interview and clinical observations made at the initial evaluation.

    Treatment Sessions

    • 45 minutes: $80.00

    Frequency of treatment sessions will be recommended based on the findings of the initial evaluation

  • Yes. Telehealth services are provided through a secure software.

  • Under certain circumstances, at the discretion of the therapist, home visits may be provided based upon location, scheduling and availability. A traveling fee will be applied.

How It Works

    Consultation

    The initial consultation consists of a complimentary 15 minute phone call to discuss your concerns regarding your child’s speech and language skills. This call will determine if a speech-language evaluation is recommended for your child.

    Initial Evaluation

    At the initial evaluation, a case history will be collected and an in-depth parent interview will occur. Your child will be asked to participate in standardized and /or informal assessments. The initial evaluation will last approximately 1 hour. Results will be discussed following the evaluation and a treatment plan will be established if recommended.

    Treatment

    The frequency of speech therapy sessions are recommended based on the clinical findings of the evaluation while also taking into account caregiver preferences. Therapy sessions are 45 minutes.
